The awards have never been a factor for me. They are a just popularity contest. When I consider who the best ever was I only take into account the things a player has control of. Sure rings are a measure, as is finals record and playoff averages. Look at number of 30+ point games in their career for one. Back then it was apparent that Jordan could have been MVP every season but it’s better for the league to pass around the awards so others get accolades too. Just because they aren’t MJ, Kobe, or LJ doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be recognized. Personal stats tell a clearer picture.
