LaTasha Thomas, assistant principal at Davison Elementary-Middle School, just snagged the Michigan Lottery’s Excellence in Education award—and it’s all thanks to a former student’s nomination. After 18 years in education, her focus on student leadership and real-world success is getting well-deserved recognition. Not only does she take home $2,000, but she’s also in the running for a $10,000 Educator of the Year prize. It’s awesome to see Detroit educators making a difference! What qualities do you think make an educator truly stand out in our community? #Education #Detroit #EducationMatters
