Starting Tuesday, getting to your train at South Station means tapping or scanning your ticket at one of 40 new fare gates. This upgrade is all about making sure fares are collected and reinvested to improve service. The gates are designed with everyone in mind—there are wider lanes for wheelchairs, bikes, and strollers.
