Turns out, some of those preservatives in our snacks might not be as harmless as we thought. Two big French studies found links between certain additives (like sodium nitrite and potassium nitrate) and higher risks of cancer and type 2 diabetes. The results aren’t final, but it’s definitely making me eye my grocery cart differently. Maybe time to swap out the processed stuff for more veggies and beans?
