Fewer cars rolled through the I-70 tunnels last year, and it’s not just the weather to blame. With a dry winter and the Denver Broncos on a winning streak, locals and visitors seemed less eager to hit the mountains. Even the usually packed July saw its lowest numbers in a decade, and some mountain towns noticed fewer tourists, especially over the Fourth of July.
