I was studying Exodus 28 about the "Urim and Thummim." Thev were specific stones kept inside the priest's breastpiece over his heart. When the nation had a massive military decision and didn't know what to do, they would cast these stones to get a direct "Yes" or "No" from God It sounds almost like magic to our modern ears, but it was total surrender to God's sovereignty.
