In 2015, Brock Turner (then a Stanford University swimmer) was convicted of sεxually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a dumpster on campus. He was found guilty on three felony counts. He was sentenced in June 2016 to 6 months in county jail. Prosecutors had sought 6 years in prison; the judge cited his age and potential impact on his life. He was released after serving about 3 months for good behavior. In 2004 (at age 16), Cyntoia Brown was convicted of first-dεgree murdεr and related charges for kiIIing 43-year-old Johnny Allen, who had solicited her for sεx. She was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 51 years. Her sentence was commuted by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam in January 2019.
