Living With Driving Anxiety at 22: My Honest Struggle
I'm 22, a college grad, and I still can't drive. Ever since I was a kid, cars have made me feel panicked and sick, and losing family members in accidents only made it worse. I tried to learn with a permit, but my anxiety just got worse, leading to panic attacks behind the wheel.
It’s tough seeing friends drive and feeling left behind, especially when job hunting. My parents think I’m just lazy, but it’s not that simple. If you’re in the same boat, know you’re not alone. I’m working on it by talking to a therapist and taking baby steps, like just sitting in a parked car.
