Weekend Outing with the Kids - The Basic Bird Parrot Shop on Berkeley University

Big thanks to my buddy @FivemeterCandyBar for recommending the classic pet parrot store Basic Bird on Berkeley University Road, the kids absolutely loved it! The store may be small, but it has a great variety of parrots, all priced very reasonably! If you're interested in owning a parrot, you should definitely check this place out. Wat Mongkolratanaram • Berkeley Thai Temple Brunch Market

Had an incredible experience at the bustling temple morning market today! This Thai temple in Berkeley offers a brunch from 10am-1pm every Sunday. Unlike other food courts, you don't need to spend a lot to enjoy specialty Thai meals here [Shy]! Process: Once you enter the temple, exchange cash for tokens, then go to various food stalls according to your taste and queue for meals! If you don't spend all your tokens, you can exchange them back to cash when you leave! My dining experience ($23 tokens): *Picture 7, $10, Thai style deep-fried sweets. The little white balls are with coconut flavor, the fried cakes are yam flavor. Moderately sweet, and even though it's fried, it's not oily! *Picture 8, $11, wide noodles beef soup. Cooked on site, also has the option for thin noodles. The soup is hearty and the meat is plentiful; but the downside is, the soup's a bit salty! *Picture 9, $2, Thai iced tea. Both coffee and Thai iced tea are $2, bottled water is $1. Can't complain for that price – just enjoy your drink [LOL]! Summary: The cost is around $20-$25 per person. After the meal, you can also visit the temple for worship. Papa John's Pizza•Fast food pizza can be really awesome

Can't believe how good the pizza from this little shop on Berkeley Street is! Passed by several times without stepping in because it looks so ordinary! I finally gave it a shot today and it was surprisingly delicious! The store was attended by a single cashier-cum-chef - he was pretty brusque and his service wasn't the best [embarassed face]! Watched him prepare my order on the spot which took about 10 minutes. All the pizza doughs are prepped early in the day, then they're quickly fired up as orders come in! Recommendations: *Garlic Breadstick, Image 5, $9.99. First up, it's very oily, so if you're not into oily food, don't try this lightly, there's enough oil to drip! The taste had great texture: crispy yet tender, the potent garlic flavor was a hit with the kids! *Large Pizza Combo, Images 6/7, $19.99. Choose any three-layer topping, and get a 2L drink, it's the best deal in the house! Ordered the regular cheese pizza, it was rich with cheese, thin crust, chewy, huge portion, tasty and absolutely no complaints! *Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza, Images 8/9, $26 per Large, no set meal available, price is a bit high. Because the cheese pizza was so good, immediately ordered the upgraded version with cheese-stuffed crust [amazed face]! Basically, the crust is filled with double the cheese, if you're a cheese lover, you should definitely try this one out, it's even better than the regular one! The only downside is you need to tueat it hot to enjoy the melting cheese—if you take it home, the cheese might solidify! Overall, their market positioning is like the McDonald's of the pizza world. But the taste exceeded my expectations, at least the cheese pizza left a great impression! One large pizza is just enough for two, so it's approximately $10 per person!
