Bulk Bran Flakes Hunt: Why Is This So Hard?!

Living off generic Raisin Bran is just my thing, but lately, I’m overpaying for those tiny boxes at Target and Walmart. I want the bran flakes in bulk—just the flakes, none of the extra stuff. I’d rather toss in my own raisins (and maybe go wild with some cranberries, who knows). But finding a bulk bag that tastes like the store-brand flakes? Nearly impossible. Every health food store I check either has some weird organic version that tastes like cardboard or it’s outrageously expensive. I’ve tried online, too—Bob’s Red Mill is everywhere, but their bran flakes are nothing like the generic ones. Even the big warehouse stores don’t have what I’m looking for. Why is it so hard to find a basic, crunchy, not-too-sweet bran flake in a giant bag? It’s just cereal!
