Whose cat poops standing up? Mine 😔

I picked up my kitten on the side of the road so when he first came he was only 2 months? Something like that. So, I took on the persona of a kitty cat mom and dedicated myself to teaching him to dig a hole and go to the bathroom. But when he was younger, probably because he was sensitive to kitty litter, he needed me to hold him up to go potty. Little did I know, he's older now and learning to hold the sides of the litter box by himself! Standing to go potty every time 🤷‍♂️ Do I need to stop him?
