The View Was Perfect. I Wasn’t.

I drove the Croatian coast because everyone said it was unmissable. The water was glass, the cliffs dramatic, the villages like postcards. I took a hundred photos and none of them felt right. Somewhere between Split and Dubrovnik, I pulled over, engine ticking, and realized I’d been chasing a feeling I couldn’t name. The air smelled like salt and diesel. I watched locals argue over coffee, kids running barefoot, and felt more like a ghost than a traveler. You can follow the perfect route and still feel lost.
