Tesla just reported a 13.5% drop in global deliveries for Q2—384,122 cars vs. the 387k analysts were expecting. Not a total collapse, but definitely not a good sign.
This is the second quarter in a row with declining sales, and honestly, I’m not surprised. Between growing EV competition, fewer new models, and Elon’s constant political noise turning people off the brand, it feels like the Tesla shine is wearing thin.
They're trying to pivot to self-driving tech and offering more incentives (hello, low-interest financing), but it seems like the core appeal just isn’t hitting the same anymore. People have more choices now—and some are just straight-up tired of the drama.
I still think Tesla’s tech is ahead in some areas, but the company needs more than just autopilot promises and flashy updates to win back trust and momentum.
