Gear doesn't catch fish - knowledge does! 🎣

Fishing has become way too much of a show-off sport. Everyone's obsessing over who has the "better" setup - baitcasters vs spinning, fly vs conventional, expensive rods vs budget gear. Here's the truth: I've seen people catch fish on basic setups while gear snobs with $2000 rigs get skunked. Why? Because they spend more time arguing about equipment than learning fish behavior, feeding patterns, and where fish actually are. Sure, baitcasters cast further but risk bird nests. Spinning reels are more forgiving. But honestly? Use whatever you're comfortable with and focus on understanding the fish instead. Are you catching fish? That's all that matters. Your reel won't be the reason you succeed - your knowledge will. #fishing #FishingTips #Anglers #baitcastervsspinner

Stop losing lures with better hook choices 🪝

Been experimenting with different hook setups lately after losing way too many lures to rocks and kelp. Here's what I've figured out through trial and error: When I'm fishing rocky/shallow/reef areas, I've switched to inlines with points angled slightly inward - saves me so many snags compared to trebles. For fast predators with big mouths (think bass, pike), inlines actually work better than trebles in my experience. But smaller-mouthed fish or those that just nip at baits? Trebles definitely give better hookup rates. Straight inlines have the best overall hookup ratio, but that includes hooking every rock and weed too! What’s your experience? Which hooks do you swear by in tricky spots? #fishing #fishingtips #lurefishing #anglerlife
