AMERICAN CITIZEN+FollowJohn Kennedy Introduces a bill that would halt Paychecks to CongressmenThe bill that Senator from Lousiana John Kennedy introduced would prevent politicians from getting paid during the government shutdown. Kennedy recognizes the shutdown as unfair for federal workers as they are essentially penalized while the politicians have made little effort in coming to agreement. Kennedy also mentioned that empty plates aren't bargaining chips and that "If we can't do our job and fund the government, then we don't deserve a paycheck plain and simple". He wants everyone to feel the effects our troops and air traffic controllers feel during this difficult time. https://share.newsbreak.com/fs2albry #GovernmentShutdown #GovernmentShutdownImpact #GovernmentShutdownLooms #Congress152891930Share
1660 Am Radio+FollowMike Johnson Rejects Trump’s Shutdown Threat, Calls for Bipartisan Solution:House Speaker Mike Johnson broke ranks with President Trump on Monday, saying he would not support a government shutdown to score political points. Johnson told reporters that “a shutdown doesn’t serve the American people” and urged both parties to reach a “responsible funding agreement” before the deadline. The remarks put him at odds with the White House and some members of his own party who back Trump’s push for a spending standoff. Political analysts say blame could fall on both sides if a shutdown occurs — Republicans for internal divisions and Democrats for refusing GOP spending cuts — but Johnson is positioning himself as the voice of pragmatism amid the partisan fight. Smokahontis Will Smoke U Out+FollowFederal courts ordered the federal administration to continue paying for SNAP (food stamps) during the government shutdown. IDHS and the State of Illinois are reviewing these orders. SNAP benefits remain on hold by the federal government for November until further notice or order by the courts. Even if the courts order payment, it is uncertain how long it will take for SNAP payments to be made. Benefits from months prior to November can still be used. IDHS will keep customers updated on this evolving situation. Currently, the federal shutdown is not impacting CCAP, WIC, Medicaid, Early Intervention, and TANF through November 2025 for current IDHS customers. These regularly scheduled benefits will continue to be issued, and our offices will remain open and ready to assist you. IDHS is monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates. #GovernmentShutdownLooms #GovernmentShutdownImpact #GovernmentShutdownThreat #EBTBenefitsWoes #FederalShutdown #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk21Share
