Justin Guerra+FollowIs my husband a genius or just completely crazy? 😂The hedges in front of our house were really old and woody. We were going to replace them with some new plants but my husband had a completely different idea. Instead of tearing them out, he turned them into what he calls a "bonsai in progress." He spent hours shaping them. My daughter thinks he has completely lost his mind 😂😂😂 Is he a creative genius or is he just deranged? Although I do feel like it is a bold statement for our front yard 😂 #HusbandHumor #DIY #Gardening #Bonsai #HomeProjects #GeniusOrCrazy #Funny #Home 10233Share
Thomas Woods+FollowDoes this $60,000 deck look right??We’re about halfway through a deck build in a high cost-of-living area. The price is higher because it includes pavers and a few extra features, and we chose TimberTech planks. The crew finished the framing today, and I noticed a lot of nails driven straight through the wood with minimal bracing in some spots. Is this normal for deck framing, or should I be worried they’re taking shortcuts? I’m not trying to nitpick, but at this price point I’d really like to be sure the deck will last well beyond five years. 🤦🤦🤦 #HomeImprovement #DeckBuilding #ConstructionQuestions #HomeProjects #Home 33120Share
Joseph Norris+FollowQuick Guide: Essential Wood Drying for Woodworking‼️Raw wood is full of moisture and will warp if not dried. To prevent cracks and distortion in your projects, dry wood thoroughly before use. It's simple, inexpensive, but requires patience! Here’s how: 1️⃣ Measure Moisture: Get a moisture meter. Aim for 6-7% moisture content for woodworking projects. 2️⃣ Prep & Stack: Lay 1"x2" "stickers" (approx. 40cm apart). Stack boards perpendicular to stickers, leaving 1" gaps between boards for airflow. Alternate stickers and boards. 3️⃣ Apply Pressure: Place heavy plywood on top of the stack and weigh it down (e.g., with concrete blocks) to prevent warping. Important: Never cover with a tarp! 4️⃣Wait & Monitor: Drying time is roughly 1 year per inch of board thickness. Continuously check with your moisture meter until ready. A properly dried piece of wood is the foundation of a stable, long-lasting woodworking project. Happy building! #WoodworkingTips #DIYWoodworking #WoodDrying #HomeProjects #woodworking #Carpentry #HomeDecor 10Share
OracleOasis+Followhow did my tiny backyard box turn into a flower explosion? My little garden box used to be just a patch of dirt in the corner. I started with a few seeds, not expecting much. Every morning, I’d check on them, pulling weeds and making sure the soil stayed damp. I mixed in coffee grounds from my kitchen, and it actually made the flowers pop with color. Watching those first buds open felt like winning a prize. I learned that a little patience and some homemade compost go a long way. Now, my corner is bursting with blooms, and I can’t help but smile every time I see it. If you’re thinking about starting a garden, just jump in. Even a small space can surprise you. #gardening #flowers #diy #happiness #homeprojects10Share
