A Taste of Home: Dad’s First Green Onion Kimchi
Growing up far from Korea, I always missed the flavors of home. Last weekend, I decided to surprise my family by making green onion kimchi for the first time. My wife usually handles all the kimchi-making, but this time, I wanted to give her a break and show my kids a piece of their heritage.
I watched YouTube tutorials, called my mom for tips, and nervously chopped, mixed, and waited. The kitchen filled with the sharp, spicy aroma that instantly transported me back to my childhood. When we finally tasted it together, my wife smiled and said it reminded her of her mother’s recipe. My kids, skeptical at first, ended up fighting over the last bite.
