Eric Ford+FollowThis beginner's first hunt blew my mind! 🤯This dude's hunt really stunned me! He said he had such a great catch on his first hunt! #huntinglife #newbiehunter #wildgame #hunting 4313Share
Manuel Bright+Followold hunters smoked pipes for a reasonGuilty of lighting up a backwoods before morning hunts, and elk don't seem to care. Always sit around smokey campfires in my hunting clothes too. Last year a buck literally walked up and woke me from my nap under an oak tree - ten yards away! He smelled something and was curious, just didn't think it was human until I made noise. Smoke might not spook them like we think? #hunting #deerhunting #huntinglife #Outdoors 19589Share

paulcarol+Followold-school hunting still worksBeen thinking about how much hunting has changed for some folks—and how little it’s changed for me. I don’t use trail cams or fancy food plots, and I’m fine not knowing what’s out there until I’m in the stand. I’ve planted a few natural draws like hazelnut and persimmon, but mostly I just keep my shots sharp, watch the wind, and keep my gear scent-free. Some years I tag a buck, some years just a doe, but I usually get meat in the freezer. Anyone else prefer the old-school, low-tech way of hunting over all the gadgets? #hunting #deerhunting #huntinglife #outdoors386Share
bushjill+Follow🤷♂️ Do You Really Need Earpro for Hunting?Maybe unpopular opinion: I fire one shot max per hunt, sometimes zero. Why is everyone obsessed with hearing protection for hunting? Range time, absolutely. But hunting? Are you guys shooting that much in the field? #hunting #hearingprotection #deerhunting #huntinglife710Share
bushjill+Followhunting costs more than people thinkWe get 80% of our red meat from venison I harvest, plus tons of fish. But let's be honest - between gear, gas, tags, and time, I could buy meat cheaper at the store. If I worked those hunting hours instead, I'd probably come out ahead financially. But I keep telling my wife we're "saving money" lol. Anyone else lie to themselves about hunting economics?🤣 #hunting #WildGame #HuntingLife #Outdoors 8137Share
bushjill+FollowI hunt to eat, not to profitAnyone else hunt primarily for the table? Don't get me wrong, I love the chase and the time outdoors, but honestly, most of my protein comes from what I harvest. It's definitely not about money - good gear ain’t cheap, and I don’t sell what I take. But there's something satisfying about filling the freezer with venison I caught myself. What's your main motivation - the sport, the food, or both? #hunting #wildgame #fieldtotable #huntinglife #Outdoors 467Share
tyler79+FollowDo you hunt for live or for fun?Just curious—how many of y’all are hunting full-time to feed the family, or just for the love of it on weekends? Would love to hear your stories and what drives you. #hunting #huntinglife #Outdoors2544Share
bushjill+FollowHow I finally dropped a big boar clean 🐗Lost my first big boar because I rushed the shot with my deer rifle and light bullets. That thick shield stopped me cold and taught me everything about hog hunting the hard way. Here's what I learned from that expensive lesson: 1️⃣ Bullet selection matters - those thick shields and heavy bones need tough, expanding bullets like Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX. Save the light deer bullets for deer. 2️⃣ Get close - hogs are surprisingly easy to stalk. I now get within 100 yards instead of trying hero shots at 300. 3️⃣ Build a solid rest - shooting sticks, tripod, pack, anything. Hogs are fidgety and move constantly, so you need rock-solid stability. 4️⃣ Patience pays - wait for the right angle. They'll eventually give you that perfect broadside shot. Now I drop them clean every time. What's your biggest hog hunting lesson learned? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntinglife3024Share
