Nation's Giant Hamburgers is a bona fide Californian burger brand. Among all its franchises, my buddy adores the one in Orinda. In his words: Orinda Nation's makes the tastiest burgers in the Bay Area! He's proven just how good they are by loyally dining there for more than two decades, until the original store owner retired! Now under the second generation ownership, the flavors remain unchanged. What better way to celebrate National Day than with a worldwide burger feast!
Must-haves:
*Bacon Burger, $10.35! Thick, juicy patties paired with smoked bacon and grilled onions. One bite and you’re hit with the wonderful sensation of juiciness oozing out.
*Chili Dog, $8.50, +Cheese for $1.65, +Fries for $3.40! The regular menu only offers a hot dog with a bean sauce and sausage. Adding cheese and fries is my friend's invention, which makes it more satisfying! We tried it and it was amazing. The cheese and fries balance the spiciness of the bean sauce; also, no need for ketchup, just mix the fries with the bean sauce - it's a win-win! Interestingly, though the place is called “Nation Burger,” the original founder started by selling hot dogs! After selling his Buick car, he set up a hot dog stand, which gradually evolved into a renowned chain of burger restaurants! "A Man, a Buick, and a Hot Dog Stand," talk about a great story!
