Scored a mountain of food and supplies from a Walmart dumpster

I had one of my biggest finds at a local Walmart dumpster and none of it was expired. I pulled out ten bottles of Dawn dish soap, three bottles of Dial liquid hand soap, four mops, and a whole case of Snack Pack vanilla and chocolate pudding. There were three giant bags of Cajun trail mix, plenty of Amy’s beef stew cans, four big boxes of Welch’s fruit snacks, eight family size boxes of Frosted Flakes, one family size box of Honey Bunches of Oats, and three packs of Mott’s apple sauces with both original and pear flavors. On top of that there was an entire case of baby wipes with sixteen big packs, plus some kids toys and bath toys. There was so much I could not even carry everything I wanted. What really got me upset was seeing cases of Junior Mints, TVs, storage bins, and small kitchen appliances that had been deliberately destroyed. It feels wrong to see good things thrown away like that when so many people in the world go hungry. I will keep a few items for myself but most of it I plan to share with people who could use the help. #DumpsterDiving #FoodRescue #ReduceWaste #SustainableLiving #CommunitySupport #Food #WalmartFinds

Reuse Cooking Oil and Save Money at Home

Pick a high-quality oil with a high smoking point, like canola or avocado. These last longer and handle heat better. Let the oil cool completely before handling. Don’t rush this step—hot oil is dangerous and can ruin containers. Strain the oil through cheesecloth into a clean glass jar to remove crumbs and leftover bits. This keeps the oil fresher for longer. Store your filtered oil in a sealed container, away from heat and sunlight. The back of a pantry or even the fridge works great. Only reuse oil with similar foods. For example, oil from frying chicken can be reused for potatoes, but not for sweet treats. If the oil looks cloudy, smells off, or gets thick, it’s time to toss it. Don’t keep oil for more than six weeks. #KitchenHacks #SaveMoney #ReduceWaste #Food #Cooking
