Rachele Reynolds+FollowI’m 72 my SNAP BENEFITS are $207 a month. $6.30 a day. Think about that for a moment. I worked since I was in 6th grade picking up apples and berries. I retired at 67. My total retirement is $1,400. A month. Think about when you have that meal in a restaurant, bet it’s more expensive than $6.30. Think about your trip through the grocery store, how much would you be able to purchase for $6.30 or $207 for a month ? I don’t eat out in restaurants, I cook everything I can to keep myself from going hungry. Please don’t judge me for relying upon the SNAP program. I’m not out stealing food and begging I’m quietly doing everything I possibly can to survive. I’m not bitter I am extremely grateful for every penny. I’m saying thank you. #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk116155Share

Barbijene+Follow #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk… Starving children are everywhere in the world and believe it or not here in America!!! I believe that any funds should be strictly used for a child to get good nutrition, not the parent getting money to spend on cigarettes, which I’ve seen. That’s not food!!! 😡.. I was on a program called WIC, and it was strictly just for food, which is how it should be. Children need good nutrition and they should get it.01Share

Smokahontis Will Smoke U Out+FollowFederal courts ordered the federal administration to continue paying for SNAP (food stamps) during the government shutdown. IDHS and the State of Illinois are reviewing these orders. SNAP benefits remain on hold by the federal government for November until further notice or order by the courts. Even if the courts order payment, it is uncertain how long it will take for SNAP payments to be made. Benefits from months prior to November can still be used. IDHS will keep customers updated on this evolving situation. Currently, the federal shutdown is not impacting CCAP, WIC, Medicaid, Early Intervention, and TANF through November 2025 for current IDHS customers. These regularly scheduled benefits will continue to be issued, and our offices will remain open and ready to assist you. IDHS is monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates. #GovernmentShutdownLooms #GovernmentShutdownImpact #GovernmentShutdownThreat #EBTBenefitsWoes #FederalShutdown #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk21Share
