schmidtgeorge+FollowTalk About These Cool Car Names That Got Totally WastedThere is just something special about a car with a real name. A performance version of the Ford Crown Victoria would have been cool no matter what but how much better did it get when Mercury chose to call it the Marauder. That is an incredible name. Sometimes though automakers use a great name on a car that doesn't live up to its name. The name Dodge Rampage evokes some kind of tough off roader. It was actually a front wheel drive unibody coupe utility based on a Charger. Its name just did not fit. In Japan after the R34 generation the Nissan Skyline name was used on various vehicles that would be sold as Infinitis. They are not necessarily bad cars but they pale in comparison to the legends from the 1990s. I also cringe at seeing the name Skyline on a crossover SUV. Then there is the Dodge Hornet. It started its life as the legendary Hudson Hornet but then the name was slapped on an overpriced hybrid econobox that literally nobody wants. The Toyota Supra is another one. It went from an all-in-house legend to something that doesn't even have a Toyota engine. It is a real shame too. #CarTalk #Cars #ClassicCars #Dodge #Nissan #Toyota #Discussion #PetPeeves 3220Share

Susan Moreno+FollowWhere Your Toyota Really Comes FromEver wondered where your Toyota was born? Turns out, it could be from almost anywhere—Japan, the US, Mexico, or even Brazil! Toyota started out making weaving machines, but now it’s the world’s car-making giant. The cool part? If you’re driving a Camry or RAV4 in North America, it was probably built close to home. Toyota’s global reach means more local jobs and faster delivery, but also some models have different features depending on where they’re made. Nicole Morgan+FollowWildlander vs RAV4: Toyota’s China RemixToyota’s about to drop a new Wildlander in China, and it’s basically the RAV4’s twin—with a twist. Unlike the global RAV4, the Wildlander keeps a good old gasoline engine option alongside two hybrids. Design-wise, it’s almost identical to the RAV4, but you’ll only spot subtle differences (like the badge). No rugged Adventure or GR Sport trims here—just a sleek, city-ready SUV with more powertrain choices. Would you pick this over the classic RAV4? #Cars #Toyota #Wildlander00Share

robertocarter+FollowToyota’s Slow EV Wake-Up CallToyota’s finally jumping into the European EV game, planning to make up to 100,000 electric cars a year in the Czech Republic. Why now? Europe’s banning new gas cars by 2035, and EVs are already a big deal there (16% of sales). Meanwhile, Toyota’s still cautious—expect more hybrids than Teslas. But if you’re shopping for a new ride in a few years, you’ll have way more electric options, even from the world’s biggest carmaker. #Business #EntrepreneurshipStartup #Toyota24Share

walkerjason+FollowToyota Cars Are Basically Unicorns RNToyota is crushing it—6 out of the 10 fastest-selling cars in the US are Toyotas! If you’ve been car shopping, you already know: these things barely touch the lot before they’re gone. The Sienna minivan is the hottest ticket, averaging just 20 days on the lot. Why? Lower prices and Toyota’s rep for quality. Meanwhile, the slowest seller? The Audi A6, chilling for 16 months. Wild! #Cars #Toyota #CarShopping30Share
Jacqueline Farrell+Follow2026 Grand Highlander Price Hike? Barely!Toyota’s not rocking the boat with the 2026 Grand Highlander—prices are only up $500 on most trims (except for the Hybrid Nightshade, which gets a $580 bump for a new black badge). The base now starts at $41,360, so you’re not paying much more for that extra space and power. Still a solid deal compared to rivals like the Chevy Traverse, Kia Telluride, and Mazda CX-90. Would you pay a little more for the Toyota badge? #Cars #BuyingCar #Toyota00Share
