Top 10 Most Dangerous Hikes in the U.S.

These hikes aren’t just scenic—they’re seriously risky. 😳 Would you dare? 1. Angel’s Landing, Zion National Park, UT 2. Capitol Peak via the Knife Edge, CO 3. Mist Trail + Half Dome Cables, Yosemite, CA 4. Huckleberry Trail, Glacier National Park, MT 5. Camp Muir, Mount Rainier, WA 6. Chinitna Bay, Lake Clark, AK 7. Barr Trail, Pikes Peak, CO 8. Jack Mountain, North Cascades, WA 9. Presidential Traverse, NH 10. Denali, Denali National Park, AK 🎒 We tackled Angel’s Landing last Sept. — hands down one of the most intense hikes I’ve ever done. It’s only 4.5 miles round trip, but the final stretch? A narrow ridge, chains bolted into cliffs, sheer drops on both sides… and crowds. One of our friends stopped at Scout Lookout because of the height, and honestly, I get it. From there on, it’s just you, the chain, and the void. But if you make it to the summit, the 360° view over Zion Canyon is absolutely jaw-dropping. Red cliffs, green valleys—picture perfect. 🍂🧗‍♂️ 📌 A few must-know tips: Don’t go if you have a fear of heights Avoid rainy days—slippery rocks = real danger Wear gloves for the chains Start early to avoid crowds (narrow path + too many people = sketchy) Permit required! Apply in advance 💬 Have you hiked any of these trails? Which one was the scariest—or most unforgettable? Or is there a trail you think should be on this list? hiking in southeast alaska: is it worth the mud and bugs?

Last weekend, we decided to check out a trail entry in southeast Alaska that everyone online seems to rave about. The drive out there was already an adventure—twisting roads, misty forests, and the kind of rain that soaks you in seconds. We finally found the trailhead after missing the turn twice (why are the signs always so tiny out here?). The scenery was breathtaking—towering spruce trees, mossy rocks, and the sound of rushing water everywhere. But as soon as we started hiking, the mud was ankle-deep, and the mosquitoes came out in full force. I swear, I spent more time swatting bugs than looking at the views. My shoes are still drying out on the porch, and I’m not sure they’ll ever be the same. Has anyone else braved these trails in southeast Alaska? Did you find the beauty worth the hassle, or do you have a secret trick for dealing with the mud and bugs? Sometimes I wonder if the locals are just tougher than the rest of us, or if we’re missing something obvious. I love the wildness, but I’m not sure my socks can take another beating like this. #AlaskaHiking #TrailLife #OutdoorAdventures #Travel

The Stairs I Almost Didn't Photograph

Spent Saturday climbing Mt. Mitchell, camera heavy around my neck, stopping every few steps for that perfect shot. Trees catching light just right. Views that made my legs forget they were burning. But the stairs? Almost walked right past them. Nothing Instagram-worthy about weathered wood and metal railings. Just the honest truth of what it takes to get somewhere worth going. Every step up, every breath that hurt a little. Took dozens of photos that day—sweeping vistas, dramatic clouds, all the stuff that screams 'adventure.' But this one, these unremarkable stairs, is the only one I keep looking at. Sometimes the journey up matters more than the view from the top. Sometimes the ordinary parts tell the real story. #HikingTruth #MountainMoments #TrailLife #Travel
