Ruins Don’t Heal You—They Remind You
I wandered through the sun-bleached bones of El Badi Palace, expecting to feel awe. Instead, I felt small. The grandeur was gone, picked clean by centuries and tourists, but the emptiness was what stuck. I took photos I never posted—because ruins don’t make you look adventurous, just alone.
It’s easy to romanticize decay from a distance. Up close, it’s just heat, dust, and the echo of what used to be. I kept thinking about how much we expect from places like this—some revelation, some story to bring home. But sometimes all you get is the reminder that not everything broken is beautiful, and not every trip gives you what you came for.
