why i stick with a trifold wallet for travel
I’ve always been a bit picky about my travel wallet, and I know everyone has their own favorite style. Some folks swear by bifolds, but I keep coming back to my trusty trifold. Here’s the thing: when I’m getting ready for a trip, I have a whole stack of cards and IDs to juggle—my priority pass, global entry, passport card, and even random city passes. With my trifold, I just move over the essentials and I’m set.
But here’s where it gets tricky. The last time I was in Europe, I realized their bills are way taller than our dollars. I tried stuffing them into a bifold once, and they stuck out like a sore thumb. Not only did it look ridiculous, but I was worried about losing cash every time I opened my wallet. The trifold handles those tall bills no problem.
Plus, I can actually fit my trifold in my front pocket. I’ve heard way too many stories about pickpockets in crowded markets, and I’d rather not be the next victim. Still, I sometimes wonder if I’m missing out on something by not switching to a bifold—maybe they’re lighter or less bulky? But every time I try, I end up back with my trifold. Anyone else run into this weird wallet struggle when traveling?
