Don’t sleep on the ladies of NHRA — some of the baddest drivers out there

Been going to NHRA events for years, and I gotta say… if you still think drag racing is some old boys’ club, you’re living under a rock. These women flat-out RACE. Watching Brittany Force chase down a 3.6-second run in Top Fuel, or Erica Enders absolutely mop the field in Pro Stock — it’s the real deal. No gimmicks, no token entries, they’re out there winning championships on merit. Last year at Charlotte I stood by a dad hoisting his daughter up on his shoulders, pointing down the track and saying, “That’s Brittany. Girls can drive Top Fuel too.” Thought that was the coolest damn moment. And it’s not just the drivers. Half the tuners, clutch techs, even marketing crew hustling in the pits are women. NHRA feels miles ahead of a lot of other series in this respect. So here’s to the ladies turning wrenches, pulling holeshots, and running quicker 60-foots than most dudes could dream of. The future looks pretty badass. #NHRA #GirlsPower #Women #TopFuel #RacingFamily

Women are born with the ability to love

In 1040, Earl Leofric of Coventry, England, married Godiva. The earl imposed heavy taxes on the local citizens to support the British army's campaign, which made Godiva unhappy. The earl was angry, thinking that his wife was being inappropriate by worrying about a bunch of commoners. After Godiva pleaded with him, the Earl angrily declared, “Unless you ride naked on horseback through the streets of the city, I will not reduce the taxes.” He believed that his dignified and virtuous wife would never agree to such an absurd demand. However, the next morning, Lady Godiva removed her nightgown, mounted her horse completely naked, and left the manor. Gudivah covered her body only with her long hair and rode around the streets for a long time, but all the people kept their doors and windows closed, refusing to come out. The streets and alleys were deserted, as if the city were empty. Women seem to be born with a great sense of empathy for the suffering around them, and they are also willing to sacrifice themselves to save those in distress. This world truly cannot do without women. #Entertainment#Art#Women#Suffering

Magnum's first female photographer, she refuses to let women be defined!

As Magnum's first female photographer, she used her Leica twin-lens reflex camera to pierce through the male-dominated lens and shed light on a female perspective, making Marilyn Monroe's tear stains and the fingertips of a sari vendor equally real and unyielding to definition — Eve Arnold, the woman who gave voice to women. Through her lens, Marilyn Monroe is no longer the sensual icon standing by an air vent with her skirt blown up by the wind. Arnold eschews the spotlight, letting natural light creep over the tear stains: “She is not a symbol; she is an actress who gets tired.” This series of photos prompted Life magazine to use the word “vulnerable” to describe Monroe for the first time, marking the beginning of feminist photography. #Entertainment#Photography#Women#Independence
