can a total newbie keep deck plants alive or am i doomed?

I never thought I’d be the person fussing over plants, but here I am, hovering over my little deck garden like it’s a science experiment. Picking out pots was a whole adventure—who knew drainage holes mattered so much? I learned the hard way after my basil looked a little too soggy. Now I check the soil with my finger before watering. It’s wild how fast things can change out there. One day, my mint is thriving, the next, it’s looking dramatic and droopy. Turns out, moving it to a shadier spot made all the difference.
