williamsjerry+FollowFor anyone stressing about what to wear to the theaterThere is no dress code. None. Zero. I promise you. I’ve been to probably 50+ shows over the years, and I’ve sat next to people in everything from full evening gowns to workout clothes to jeans and sneakers. Nobody cares. The ushers don’t care. The other audience members don’t care. The actors definitely don’t care—they just want you there enjoying the show. I like to dress up a bit because it makes the whole thing feel more special to me. Like, going to see Hamilton in a nice dress and heels puts me in a different headspace than if I rolled up in my everyday clothes. But that’s just MY thing. My friend literally wore athleisure to Chicago last month because she was coming straight from the gym, she had just as good a time as everyone else. The only real rule is: wear something you can sit comfortably in for 2-3 hours. That’s it. #Theater #DressCode 607Share
montoyalaurie+FollowWhy is dressing nice a problem in the Bay Area?So I dressed up for a Bay Area job interview—nothing crazy, just formal to show I cared. And guess what? They straight-up told me I was overdressed and it didn’t fit their office culture. Like…what?! I expected job hunting to be tough—maybe getting stuck on algorithms or industry experience—but getting judged for dressing too well? Wild. Isn’t this the land of “freedom”? Guess not when it comes to clothes. East Coast? Business casual at best. West Coast? Apparently, jeans and a hoodie are the way to go. Lesson learned. Know your coast, know your dress code. #workculture #techlife #dresscode120Share
Robert Daniels+FollowDress Code Drama at Steakhouse 🍽️A Louisiana nurse is suing a steakhouse after being denied service for wearing a floral crop top and skirt—despite seeing white patrons and even staff in more revealing outfits. She says it felt humiliating and discriminatory, especially since the dress code wasn’t enforced equally. The lawsuit claims it’s a clear double standard, and she’s asking for a jury trial. Would you have called them out or just left? This one’s got people fired up! #Discrimination #DressCode #DoubleStandard #ViralNews #CivilRights6171171Share
