My grandma's house is falling apart but she refuses to leave πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I am really worried about my grandma. Her mobile home from the 1970s is literally falling apart. The ceiling in the bathroom is cracked, and a beam in a bedroom has broken. There are puddles of water on the roof from dents, and the carpet is always damp. The ceiling fan in the kitchen is hanging on by just a few screws and the walls get hot when you use an outlet. The worst part is she refuses to move. She keeps saying it's all "fixable" and that she can do it herself. Her plan is to get a new roof and ignore all the electrical and interior problems. The whole place is full of mold and she has lost all of her hair in the last few months, but she doesn't think it's from the house. I have no idea what to do or where to even begin. She won't listen to me, and I am so worried for her health and safety. 😭😭😭 I am hoping someone has been through a similar situation and can tell me how to handle this. #FamilyIssues #HomeRepair #ElderCare #SafetyFirst #AdviceNeeded #HelpNeeded #Home #HomeMaintenance #HomeMaintenanceRepair

At a Garage Sale. Trying to figure out what it is before I turn it into a coffee table base.

I found this really old, wooden item at a garage sale the other day. It's about five feet long, and the guy who owned it (who used to run an antique store) had no idea what it was either. It's got two metal thread plates on each side, which makes me think it might have been attached to something. My first guess was maybe some kind of old trough with eyelets to tie animals to, but that just doesn't feel right. Before I turn this into an coffee table base (that's my current plan) I'm genuinely so curious about its original purpose. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any old farm equipment experts or antique gurus out there who can shed some light? #HelpNeeded #WhatIsIt #Woodworking #OldStuff #DIYProjects

Is it legal to tow a car that's blocking your driveway?

You've had a really long day, you're tired, and all you want to do is pull into your driveway. Then you see it. Some stranger's car is sitting right there, blocking your way. First instinct is to probably just call a tow truck right away. It is illegal to block a driveway which means you can get the cops involved and usually you won't be stuck with the tow bill. But before you get totally mad about it, maybe try being polite first. Try leaving a note explaining that they are blocking your driveway. If the polite approach does not work, then it's time to call your local law enforcement. Use their main non-emergency number or 311 if you have it. They will come out and handle contacting a tow company for you. This is usually the best way because some tow companies won't even move a car unless the police have already been involved. And whatever you do, please do not try to tow the car yourself. Local police department told me it's kind of a gray area and you could get into trouble if you damage the car without the right insurance. It is always best to let the professionals handle it. #ParkingProblems #HomeownerLife #TowTruckDrama #LegalAdvice #HelpNeeded #Cars #CommunityTalk #Neighborhoods

My house has become a drainage nightmare

We bought our dream homes, but they have quickly turned into a living nightmare. Every time it rains, our front yards turn into disgusting, mosquito-infested swamps. The so-called "swales" that were supposed to drain the water just fill up like little ponds. We've reached out to the home builder a dozen times, but they just act like it's no big deal and refuse to do anything. We even went to the county, but they just say their hands are tied. It feels like we have been completely abandoned. We poured our savings into these houses, and now we're left with this mess. We've tried everything we can think of, but we are out of options and out of hope. We just feel so defeated. I am begging for any advice from anyone who has gone through something like this before. What did you do to fix it? 😭 #HomeownerProblems #DrainageDesign #DIY #HomeImprovement #AskForHelp #HelpNeeded #Home #HomeMaintenance

A hospice patient gifted me these

I volunteer at a hospice, and I've spent a lot of time with an elderly lady there. She didn’t have many visitors so I was basically the one who kept her company. Last week she handed me this little box of jewelry. I have no idea if any of it is real. My gut says it’s all just costume jewelry, but now I’m curious. I just feel ridiculous walking into a jewelry store and asking someone to check them. What if they tell me it’s all from Macy’s and give me that pity smile. I can see tiny markings on the inside of a few pieces but I can’t make them out. Is taking them to a store really the only way to find out? I want to know but I also don’t want to feel like an idiot.😞 #JewelryAdvice #HelpNeeded #HospiceStories #Jewelry

This 18-year-old inherited a house but their mom is stealing their money

I just saw a post from an 18-year-old who inherited their dad's house and all his possessions. My heart just sank reading it. The parents divorced a long time ago which meant the mom had no legal claim to any of the inheritance. For some reason the mom has acted like she owns everything. This kid is trying to figure out how to be an adult but their own mother is making it impossible. The mom has access to all of their money and is using it to pay off her own credit cards. The post said she has spent almost thirteen thousand dollars of the kid's inheritance just on herself. She also refuses to teach them anything about how to manage the house or pay bills. She even threatens to leave them if they try to gain any independence. This young person is absolutely terrified their mother is going to somehow take claim over their house and car. They need real professional advice on how to get out of this situation safely. This is completely unacceptable. I am hoping there are some legal experts or people who have been through this who can offer serious guidance. #Inheritance #FinancialAbuse #FamilyProblems #LegalAdvice #HelpNeeded #Adulting #RedFlags #FamilyRelationships #Family
