My house has become a drainage nightmare

We bought our dream homes, but they have quickly turned into a living nightmare. Every time it rains, our front yards turn into disgusting, mosquito-infested swamps. The so-called "swales" that were supposed to drain the water just fill up like little ponds. We've reached out to the home builder a dozen times, but they just act like it's no big deal and refuse to do anything. We even went to the county, but they just say their hands are tied. It feels like we have been completely abandoned. We poured our savings into these houses, and now we're left with this mess. We've tried everything we can think of, but we are out of options and out of hope. We just feel so defeated. I am begging for any advice from anyone who has gone through something like this before. The soil is not percolating water down into the ground water means you have clay for topsoil, or the home is built on top of bedrock.

your only solution may be to install one or more sumps that connect to the nearest positive drainage or runoff area. my place has subsided over time creating a bowl effect, so I now have two half-hp pumps that move water to the ditch that fronts the property. it's a cost to you, but it's important to keep ponding water away from your foundations

I would get everyone together and higher a lawyer if this is fairly new construction. Even just to see if you have a case that would get this corrected.

You can remove the trench grates and rod the piping system with a hose to flush out the debris in the drain lines. Many companies now do hydro-jetting and vacuuming service and could get the drain lines cleared.

It depends who the builder is, if they are solid then maybe think about hiring a lawyer. If they are not a solid company they could dissolve and you will be fixing it your self and paying for the lawyers. You have to weigh the cost of fixing it and the cost of a lawyer and determine which is cheaper.
