why did my homegrown lettuce taste SO bitter? 🤦‍♀️

I finally decided to grow my own lettuce. Thought it would be all cute and fresh, but... let me tell you, the reality hit HARD. The leaves were all floppy and sad at first, so I brought them outside to soak up some sunlight. The new leaves definitely looked better—harder, more wrinkled—but the old ones? Still soft and lifeless. I picked a bunch of them, expecting to feel proud, but when I took a bite... sigh. Bitter. Not just a little bitter, but seriously bitter. I guess I’ve learned the hard way.
