bushjill+Follow🤷♂️ Do You Really Need Earpro for Hunting?Maybe unpopular opinion: I fire one shot max per hunt, sometimes zero. Why is everyone obsessed with hearing protection for hunting? Range time, absolutely. But hunting? Are you guys shooting that much in the field? #hunting #hearingprotection #deerhunting #huntinglife710Share
tyler79+FollowTurkey Vest: worth it or just hype?Been wondering if a turkey vest is really necessary or just extra weight. Do you wear one every hunt, or go without? #hunting #HuntingGear #TurkeyHunting #HuntingTips25Share
lolson+FollowOff-season rabbit hunting keeps me sharp 🐰Been hitting the rabbit woods during deer off-season and loving it! These little speedsters are way trickier than people think. A few things have helped me: - Focus on early morning and late evening hunts during summer heat - avoid midday when it's too hot - Target thick cover like brush piles, overgrown fence rows, and shaded field edges where they escape the heat - Use the zig-zag walking pattern to kick them up from cover - Keep your shotgun ready at port arms - once they bolt, you've got maybe 2 seconds to shoot! The fast shooting really helps with my reaction time for other game. Anyone else use rabbit hunting for off-season practice? #hunting #RabbitHunting #OffSeasonHunting #SmallGameHunting1924Share
Manuel Bright+FollowIs hunting by bike allowed where you are? 🚵♂️I’ve been mountain biking for years, and recently started combining it with hunting. It’s honestly a great way to move quietly and cover ground fast. The only challenge? Hauling out the game after a successful hunt—definitely a workout 😅 Anyone else hunt this way? Would love to get tips for hauling out game without straining my back! #hunting #BikeHunting #MountainBikeLife #HuntingHacks2315Share
Manuel Bright+FollowWhat do you hunt in the off-season?Deer season’s quiet—what do y’all go after instead? I’ve been chasing squirrels and rabbits lately, but curious what others are doing to stay sharp. #hunting #offseasonhunting #wildgame #smallgamehunting2415Share
Eric Ford+FollowAnyone actually catch anything with traps?Been reading up on trapping lately and got curious—any older hunters here still setting traps? Would love to hear what you’ve used, what worked, and any tips you’d pass down. #hunting #HuntingTips #WildlifeTrapping2819Share
lolson+FollowHow I stay hydrated hunting in summer heat? 🔥Summer hunting ain’t for the faint-hearted. I’ve hunted through 100°F heat and learned (sometimes the hard way) that hydration planning is just as important as gear. Here’s what works for me: 1️⃣ A 70oz hydration bladder for easy sipping on the move 2️⃣ A backup 32oz Nalgene bottle (bladders can leak) 3️⃣ Electrolyte packets (but only in bottles—not bladders, trust me) 4️⃣ A Lifestraw tucked in my pack in case I get stuck out longer 5️⃣ Early morning or late evening hunts to avoid peak temps Dress light, stay in the shade when possible, and snack often. Dehydration sneaks up fast in the woods—especially when you’re focused on the next trail or shot. Curious—what’s in your hydration setup? Ever had a close call? #hunting #summerhuntingtips #hydrationinthefield #bowseasonready32Share
mmoore+FollowSuppressors for Hunting - Worth It? 🔇Thinking about getting a suppressor for ear protection while hunting. How well do they actually work? Any downsides or side effects I should know? #hunting #suppressors #huntinggear #gunhunting14055Share
Manuel Bright+FollowI trust the wind more than my camoAfter years in the woods, I’ve learned one thing: wind trumps camo every time. You can blend in perfectly, but if they catch your scent, it’s game over. Agree? #hunting #huntingtips #windmatters #outdoors512Share
bushjill+FollowHow I finally dropped a big boar clean 🐗Lost my first big boar because I rushed the shot with my deer rifle and light bullets. That thick shield stopped me cold and taught me everything about hog hunting the hard way. Here's what I learned from that expensive lesson: 1️⃣ Bullet selection matters - those thick shields and heavy bones need tough, expanding bullets like Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX. Save the light deer bullets for deer. 2️⃣ Get close - hogs are surprisingly easy to stalk. I now get within 100 yards instead of trying hero shots at 300. 3️⃣ Build a solid rest - shooting sticks, tripod, pack, anything. Hogs are fidgety and move constantly, so you need rock-solid stability. 4️⃣ Patience pays - wait for the right angle. They'll eventually give you that perfect broadside shot. Now I drop them clean every time. What's your biggest hog hunting lesson learned? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntinglife2924Share
