How I finally dropped a big boar clean 🐗

Lost my first big boar because I rushed the shot with my deer rifle and light bullets. That thick shield stopped me cold and taught me everything about hog hunting the hard way. Here's what I learned from that expensive lesson: 1️⃣ Bullet selection matters - those thick shields and heavy bones need tough, expanding bullets like Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX. Save the light deer bullets for deer. 2️⃣ Get close - hogs are surprisingly easy to stalk. I now get within 100 yards instead of trying hero shots at 300. 3️⃣ Build a solid rest - shooting sticks, tripod, pack, anything. Hogs are fidgety and move constantly, so you need rock-solid stability. 4️⃣ Patience pays - wait for the right angle. They'll eventually give you that perfect broadside shot. Now I drop them clean every time. What's your biggest hog hunting lesson learned? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntinglife

Started hunting at 31 with zero family tradition

My family thought I was nuts when I bought my first rifle at 26. Zero hunting tradition, just me figuring it out through YouTube and range time. Took me another 5 years to actually get in the woods. What really clicked for me was reconnecting with my indigenous heritage. Suddenly hunting wasn't just about shooting deer—it became this spiritual thing, following wisdom that's been in my blood all along. Whether I come home with meat depends on what the land and animals decide to give me that day. Love sharing wild game with friends who've never tasted it. Their faces when they try elk for the first time? Priceless. Plus knowing exactly where my family's protein comes from feels good. Anyone else come to hunting later in life without family teaching you? #Hunting #SpiritualHunting #WildGame #HuntingLife #Outdoors
