A Marine that I knew and worked for, fought in the Chosen Reservoir campaign. He received a field promotion to Captain when all of the commanding officers in his unit were killed. He guided the rest of his unit to safety.

Sadly the U.S.Army Task Force Faith of the 7th Infantry, lost all of it's Officers and Non-Coms and very few survivors. A part of the Battle of Chosin Reservoir that's not talked about . My Adopted Dad was at Chosin as a Marine and was wounded there.
