It is tough for a car to stay at the top. Some cars are just legends because they were so innovative or popular or iconic. Think about cars like the Mustang or the Beetle. But keeping that kind of legacy is a whole different story. Sometimes those legendary cars get completely fumbled by a bad redesign or a lack of new ideas. 😮‍💨 I think the biggest fumble of an automotive legacy has to be the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The early versions of that car were so cool. They were affordable sporty coupes that just felt fast and stylish. But as the years went on the car just got bigger and heavier. I still have a soft spot for the later models but they never had the same fun feeling as the original.
