My grandma's house is falling apart but she refuses to leave 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I am really worried about my grandma. Her mobile home from the 1970s is literally falling apart. The ceiling in the bathroom is cracked, and a beam in a bedroom has broken. There are puddles of water on the roof from dents, and the carpet is always damp. The ceiling fan in the kitchen is hanging on by just a few screws and the walls get hot when you use an outlet. The worst part is she refuses to move. She keeps saying it's all "fixable" and that she can do it herself. Her plan is to get a new roof and ignore all the electrical and interior problems. The whole place is full of mold and she has lost all of her hair in the last few months, but she doesn't think it's from the house. I have no idea what to do or where to even begin. how about this, pitch in and help the woman? even basic handyman skills and a few bucks here and there would go a long way. you don't have to do a total makeover. she's gotten used to things deteriorating over time, so she doesn't see her home like someone would walking into it for the first time, or on occasional visits.

This sounds like a health hazard. You said she had lost all her hair in the last few months & this sounds like a serious problem. I believe I read or heard that there were some FEMA mobile homes/trailers given away during emergencies, but found out that they had asbestos & lead,both are extremely harmful chemicals to our health. Si, I believe they gave them away or sold them for cheap. I can’t recall which exactly, but I know asbestos & lead are both so harmful & not safe to live with… Something to think about and check. But from the pictures looks like the roof is ready to fall on your grandma‘s head any minute now and that by itself is something to really worry about as a health hazard aside from other issues and to live on a damp carpet is another danger in the most dangerous life-threatening situation. She calls home. Sounds like she needs to move out ASAP all her place either gets fixed or she gets into another safer place & I would check for asbestos & lead poisoning too!
