paulcarol+FollowWhy I never want to “cure” my buck feverAfter decades chasing everything from bears to bobcats, you'd think I’d be over buck fever. But every time I raise my rifle, my heart pounds like it's my first hunt. I don’t see it as weakness—it’s proof I still care. That rush, that respect, that pulse-jumping moment... it's why I hunt. Lose that, and what’s the point? #hunting #buckfever #deerhunting #Outdoors 265Share
jortiz+Followthe rut hits different when you’re mobile huntingSet up at noon, shot my buck by 3PM. Mobile hunting during the rut is a total game-changer. Light gear, fresh sign, no more waiting around in dead stands. This style of hunting lets you move, adapt, and find the action fast. No wonder there’s an entire expo dedicated to it now. Anyone else ditching the old setups for mobile? #hunting #mobilehunting #rutseason #bowhunting #deerhunting60Share
Eric Ford+FollowWhat if you tag out too early solo?Planning a 1-2 week solo backcountry trip and only want to harvest one animal. But what if I get lucky on day 2? Don't want to waste any meat, but also can't pack it all out and keep hunting. How do you solo hunters handle this situation? #hunting #solohunting #meatcare #Outdoors 1312Share
bushjill+Followsolo hunting sounds cool… until the haulOn my last solo mule deer hunt, I packed the whole animal out in one brutal trip—legs shaking, back screaming. For elk though? That’s a different beast. 4-6 bag loads, and in warm weather, spoilage risk is real. Hanging meat in the shade helps, but timing is everything. Honestly, without a buddy, you're stuck hunting close to the road. Game bags like Argali? Absolute lifesavers. Any solo hunters here got tips for packing elk solo? #hunting #backcountryhunting #GameMeat #solohunting85Share
lolson+FollowGround Blinds are the Most Overlooked Tool I OwnUsed to be all about tree saddles until I tried taking my buddy hunting. Two guys fumbling around with saddles in trees? Total nightmare - loud, unsafe, and we bailed early. That evening I grabbed my ground blind instead. Set up in minutes, hunted comfortably until dark, and my buddy got hooked on hunting. Now I'm back to using ground blinds regularly: 1️⃣ Perfect for hunting with others - especially beginners 2️⃣ Complete concealment - deer think it's just another bush 3️⃣ Super mobile - wind shifts? Move in minutes 4️⃣ Weather protection - beats freezing your butt off in a tree Tree stands have their place, but ground blinds solve a lot of problems I didn't realize I had. Anyone else rediscover ground blinds after years of elevated hunting? #hunting #HuntingTips #GroundBlind #DeerHunting268Share

Eric Ford+FollowStill trying to figure out how hunting points workBeen trying to wrap my head around hunting point systems for months and finally starting to get it. Thought I'd share what I learned for other confused newbies: 💰 Bonus Points = Lottery Tickets More points = more entries. Even with 0 points you still have a chance (tiny, but still). 💡 Preference Points = Line System Highest points get tags first, then down the ladder until tags run out. Some states do BOTH depending on species. Others square your points (5 points = 25 entries!). Some reserve tags for zero-point hunters. The Kicker: Idaho just does pure lottery - everyone gets equal odds, no points needed. My advice? Every state is completely different. Pick your dream hunt location first, then master their specific system. Don't try to learn them all like I did - recipe for madness! #hunting #HuntingTips #HuntingPoints #PointSystems #Outdoors00Share
lolson+FollowIs it still worth chasing top-tier tags?Veterans, I'm having a crisis here. Sitting on 15 points for a dream tag but starting to think I should just burn them and hunt OTC every year instead. More time in the field vs. one premium hunt - what's your take? #hunting #OTCHunting #HuntingPoints11Share
Manuel Bright+FollowWhat's the longest you've chased a tag?I’m sitting on 11 points for Arizona antelope… starting to feel like a lifetime. Any old-timers out there beat that wait? Let’s hear your longest draw story. #hunting #PointCreep #DrawTags #AntelopeHunting20Share
Eric Ford+FollowI stopped half-assing scent control. Here’s whyHad an old timer tell me something that changed my whole scent game: “Go scent-free or don’t bother.” He's right. I used to half-ass scent control - wash some clothes, skip the boots, spray down but forget my pack. Then wonder why that buck still winded me at 60 yards. Now it's either full commitment (scent-free soap, clothes, boots, gear - everything) or I just hunt the wind and forget the sprays entirely. Half measures just waste money and give false confidence. Deer don't care if you're 90% scent-free. #hunting #HuntingTips #ScentControl #Outdoors 86Share
