Thomas Clark+FollowOur neighbors won't stop pouring grease down the drainThis is the second time this has happened and I am losing my mind. My new neighbors upstairs keep pouring grease down their drain and it clogs up everything below. Our sinks fill up with this disgusting, slimy water that we have to scoop out before it overflows onto the floor. The last time this happened, the management company had to work on the drains for weeks. They warned everyone that if it happened again, they would raise the rent for the entire building to cover the damages. We are all going to have to pay because of this. One of our neighbors already tried talking to them about it, but they just denied they were doing it. And here we go again. I don't know what to do because the office is closed until Tuesday. Does anyone have advice on how to handle a situation like this? Is it even fair that everyone's rent is going up because of one family? #ApartmentProblems #BadNeighbors #PlumbingNightmare #GreaseClogs #RentIncrease #HelpMe #HelpNeeded 40Share
Justin Guerra+FollowThis mystery black stick fell out of my shower. What is it?My shower head just fell off last night, and this black stick thing fell out with it. I have no idea what it is. It's a small rod, maybe five inches long, and it's lighter than you'd expect. It feels a bit like metal but it scratches easily and seems to be hollow on the inside. For some reason, when I picked it up, it snapped in my hand and left a small scratch. The shower still works fine without it, so I am completely confused. I can't figure out where it's supposed to go. I am hoping someone out there knows about plumbing. I would really like to know what this thing is and if I need to get a new one. I do not want to end up with a problem down the road because I'm missing some random part. #Plumbing #DIY #HomeRepair #WhatIsThis #HelpMe #HelpNeeded #Home 69101Share
malonestephen+FollowMy wife and I are losing our minds over this mystery structure. What is it?! 🤯My wife and I keep driving past this thing on the side of the road in Oregon, and we have to know what it is. It's about 15 feet tall and just sits there at the end of a driveway. The bottom part has a glass window facing the driveway, but it looks totally empty inside. We have no idea what it could be. We have thrown out every guess we can think of, like maybe it's some kind of watchtower, a giant birdhouse, or even a weird deer feeder. My wife is honestly losing her mind trying to figure it out every time we drive by. Someone has to know what this is. We would be so grateful for any ideas you might have. #MysterySolved #Oregon #WhatIsThis #HelpNeeded #WeirdFinds #Traffic #RoadsideAttractions 931966Share
herreraaustin+FollowFound This at a Yard Sale. Am I a Bad Person for Keeping It? 😳I happened to stop by a yard sale right after it was over, and everything left was free for the taking. It looked like a family was clearing out their mother's old stuff, so there was a ton of old belongings. I grabbed a few things. Long story short, I got home and opened up the box. It held three smaller boxes. The first one had some old Boy Scout pins, and another had two sets of very nice earrings. The third one had a vintage-looking ring with a 14k marking and some other engraving. It was clearly not something that was meant to be given away for free 😱😳 I have been so conflicted about what to do ever since. On one hand, I could leave a note for the family saying I think something was accidentally given away. On the other hand, it would be easy to just keep it and get the ring sized for my daughter one day. I feel pretty awful just for considering that, but I have no idea how to handle this. I am really struggling with this and could use some advice from you all. 😂 #YardSaleFinds #MoralDilemma #FoundTreasure #AdviceNeeded #Honesty #WhatWouldYouDo #HelpNeeded #Jewelry #DailyAdventures 17002650Share
schmidtgeorge+FollowIs it legal to tow a car that's blocking your driveway? You've had a really long day, you're tired, and all you want to do is pull into your driveway. Then you see it. Some stranger's car is sitting right there, blocking your way. First instinct is to probably just call a tow truck right away. It is illegal to block a driveway which means you can get the cops involved and usually you won't be stuck with the tow bill. But before you get totally mad about it, maybe try being polite first. Try leaving a note explaining that they are blocking your driveway. If the polite approach does not work, then it's time to call your local law enforcement. Use their main non-emergency number or 311 if you have it. They will come out and handle contacting a tow company for you. This is usually the best way because some tow companies won't even move a car unless the police have already been involved. And whatever you do, please do not try to tow the car yourself. Local police department told me it's kind of a gray area and you could get into trouble if you damage the car without the right insurance. It is always best to let the professionals handle it. #ParkingProblems #HomeownerLife #TowTruckDrama #LegalAdvice #HelpNeeded #Cars #CommunityTalk #Neighborhoods 141118Share
Thomas Clark+FollowI've only owned a house for a while and I already hate it 😮💨😭I bought my first house a year ago and I already regret it. There is always something that needs to be done. It feels like I haven't had a single month to just relax!! One minute I am dealing with a yard full of dead grass and weeds, and the next my new dishwasher breaks. Then a hole in the basement fills up with water because of something called a sump pump. I am learning everything the hard way. I was a lot happier when I was renting and could just call maintenance to fix things. I love not sharing a wall with people, but I am starting to think homeownership is not for me 😭😭😭 #HomeownerProblems #DIYFail #Home #HomeOwnership #HelpNeeded 4281Share
jennifercooley+FollowGrandma's beautiful Tiffany pearls I'm nervous to wear. Anyone know how old they are?It looks quite old, and it has Tiffany printed on the case. Grandma was born in the 1920s, so it might have even belonged to her mother before her. It's really beautiful, but I'm too nervous to wear it because I have no idea how old it actually is or if it needs to be restrung. You can see in the picture (with a penny for scale) that these pearls are tiny. They're also graduated in size; the center pearls are probably about double the size of the ones near the clasp. I'm really curious if anyone can help me roughly date this necklace. Thanks so much! #FamilyHeirlooms #VintageJewelry #TiffanyAndCo #PearLovers #HelpNeeded #FamilyStories #Jewelry 11032Share
Brianna Patel+FollowMy contractor's guy tried to stay the night at my new house 😮💨So I hired a contractor to paint the inside of our new home. We have not moved in yet, so the place is completely empty. A couple of guys were working for the day. One of them stayed very late, and I started to get a weird feeling about it. When I left after dinner, I noticed a big duffle bag outside with toothpaste in the side pocket. I texted the contractor to ask what was going on. He said they were just working late to finish the job. Then, he just casually mentioned that he fully intended for the guy to stay the night in the house. I honestly cannot believe he planned for this guy to stay overnight without ever asking or confirming with me. I am completely weirded out by this. Am I overreacting, or is this a huge red flag? I am hoping someone can tell me if this is normal although it definitely does not feel normal at all. #ContractorIssues #HomeImprovement #RedFlags #HelpNeeded #HomeSecurity #HomeDecor #Home 34111Share
jennifercooley+FollowShould I Get This Appraised or Just Toss It?I was going through some old stuff that belonged to a family member and found these items. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what they are or if they are even real. For all I know, they could be complete fakes. I am hoping someone here with a little more knowledge can give me an idea of what I'm looking at. #FoundObjects #PearLovers #Antique #Collectibles #Jewelry #HelpNeeded 149139Share
Thomas Woods+FollowMy grandma's house is falling apart but she refuses to leave 😵💫😵💫😵💫I am really worried about my grandma. Her mobile home from the 1970s is literally falling apart. The ceiling in the bathroom is cracked, and a beam in a bedroom has broken. There are puddles of water on the roof from dents, and the carpet is always damp. The ceiling fan in the kitchen is hanging on by just a few screws and the walls get hot when you use an outlet. The worst part is she refuses to move. She keeps saying it's all "fixable" and that she can do it herself. Her plan is to get a new roof and ignore all the electrical and interior problems. The whole place is full of mold and she has lost all of her hair in the last few months, but she doesn't think it's from the house. I have no idea what to do or where to even begin. She won't listen to me, and I am so worried for her health and safety. 😭😭😭 I am hoping someone has been through a similar situation and can tell me how to handle this. #FamilyIssues #HomeRepair #ElderCare #SafetyFirst #AdviceNeeded #HelpNeeded #Home #HomeMaintenance #HomeMaintenanceRepair 2013Share
