Your sunroof is a ticking time bomb and you don't even know it

I had no idea this was a thing until it happened to me. The drains in your car’s sunroof can get clogged with leaves and dirt. And when that happens, the water has nowhere to go but inside your car. I am talking about a complete disaster. Water can leak all over your seats, short out your electronics, and ruin your interior. It is an absolute nightmare that costs a ton of money to fix. Turns out, you can prevent this whole thing. It is a super easy DIY fix. You just need to check your sunroof drains once a year and clean them out with a vacuum or a brush. Seriously, a little bit of work can save you a huge repair bill. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I feel like this should be common knowledge but I honestly didn't know about this before. #CarMaintenance #DIY #CarRepair #Sunroof #WaterDamage #MoneySaving #LifeHacks #Cars

A car part you probably never think about but should

We all know we have to change our oil and rotate our tires, but how often do you think about the fuel filter? I know I didn't until I learned a bit about it, especially for older cars. The answer really depends on what you drive. If you've got a newer gas car, you might never have to worry about the fuel filter. A lot of those cars have something called a "lifetime" fuel filter built right into the gas tank. That sounds great, but "lifetime" usually just means the life of the fuel pump, not the car itself. For older cars, the filter is usually outside the gas tank and needs to be replaced every 20,000 to 40,000 miles or so. Now, if you drive a diesel, that's a whole different story. Their filters have to be changed a lot more often, and some diesel engines even have two. The best place to check is always your owner's manual. But there are also some signs that your filter might be clogged, like if your car has trouble starting or the engine runs rough. I've heard a few stories of engines just stopping while a person is driving, and it all comes down to a clogged filter. #CarMaintenance #CarTips #DIYCar #FuelFilterFix #AutoRepair #Cars

Finally Figured Out Why My Car's A/C Smelled So Bad 🤮

My car's air conditioner started smelling really musty, like a wet gym bag. I honestly thought it was just a sign of my car getting older. It turns out, that awful smell is actually mold and bacteria growing inside your car's AC system. Gross. Every time you run the AC, water condenses on a part called the evaporator core. Normally, that water drains out, but sometimes it gets stuck and becomes the perfect place for germs to grow. The bad news is that no amount of air freshener will fix the root cause. The good news is that it is often a pretty simple fix. You should check your cabin air filter. If it is old and dirty, replace it. It can trap moisture and cause the problem. If that does not work, you can try an AC cleaning foam you can get from an auto parts store. I am hoping this helps someone else out. #CarMaintenance #DIY #CarRepair #LifeHacks #CarTips #MustySmell #CleanYourCar #Cars
